It's been a busy weekend, went to a party friday for Andrew Gorny's birthday (happy b-day buddy!), we had a show at Whiskey City last night. Which used to be the Rock N' Roll pizza only it's wicked nice now. We had a great response, a few friends showed up and we got the bar over to the dance floor to move it and shake it! Tonight we're playing Hawthorne Theater, which ought to be a blast.

Welcome back! This strip was originally for the first idea I had for a web comic in 2004, called "The Adventures of Captain Ridiculous and Dick Boy". It never got off the ground, but I re did the strip and put it on here for your enjoyment.

What a fuckin' week.

I just found out I get to attend Dragon Con in Atlanta Georgia! I've never been to the East Coast before, so I'm very excited. My first company trip! If you're going to be there I'll be hanging out at the Dark Horse booth. Come say hi!!

One of my top 5 favorite comics, King City is being re-released in large format comics, and then continuing on to the second series. I highly recommend this book. It's more fun room full of strippers, with twice as many puns and twice the adventure. Every time I read something Brandon Graham does it makes me want to make comics, which I think is a good sign.

Thanks to everyone that showed up to the party Saturday, sorry about the crazy shit. But mostly a good time was had, and the bands played well. A big thanks to Babies got Rabies, it's sad that they only have one more show until they're bye bye forever =(

So, my girlfriend was house sitting for her aunts. They have a sweet ass house, its practically a fucking mansion. Its got an observatory for gods sake. Anyways, they had a nice TV and a Blu-Ray player. My girlfriend hadn't seen any Blu-ray movies and I wanted her to see what it was like. They had two Blu-Ray movies, Hotel for Dogs, and Twilight. I decided to give Twilight a shot. I mean it's so popular, there had to be something redeeming about it right? No. I was wrong. I got about half way through the movie and wanted to rip out my eyes, and jab them in my ears. Why is this so popular? Because retarded dudes are in right now? The chick was in Adventureland, which I really enjoyed and I thought she did a good job in. I understand she must be getting paid a shit ton of money to make these movies, but come on. Sorry Twilight lovers, generally I say it's all opinion and try and see two sides of a coin, but I saw zero redeeming qualities about this movie.

Anyways, late again. I'm not even sure what my schedule's going to be from now on. Guess I'll try and have the next one up Wednesday and try and work back to Monday from there.

I also wanted to thank everyone who viewed and reposted last weeks comic for making it my BEST WEEK EVER!(like the VH1 show, only with more pantsless class).

Alone in the office while everyones at Comic Con

Sorry Shy, I had to pick on someone and I knew you could take it. It's kind of a complement really.

So I got stuck in the office all by my lonesome while everyone else got to go to SDCC. It actually wasn't bad, just got to relax a little, but stayed pretty busy.

Went to Sun River in Bend Oregon this weekend, which was really fun. I wish I could have stayed longer. Went to the pool, got ridiculously burnt, only on the front, because it's much hard to ogle hot girls in swimsuits when you're lying on your stomach. Seriously, hot chicks are like a goddamn plague out there. Also hung out with the family, drank with the cousins. It was good times all around.

Trying to get back on schedule, hope you like the new strip!

One Week Late

Hey everybody! Sorry for the delay (the few of you who noticed), I got backed up from the holiday weekend, and so I took a week off. But more fun is here! Yipee!!

4th of July weekend was pretty sweet, my friend Alli is visiting for a month from NY, hadn't seen her in 5 fuckin' years so it was good catching up. Spent the 3rd gettin' drunk and hanging out at bars.

The 4th I spent with the girl friend, we went and had a BBQ at her aunts house. It was fun, got to meet some relatives. But then, right as we were about to leave, somebody had a seizure. The paramedics came right as we were leaving. That night we got a call that the person who had a seizure was stable in the hospital, but someone else who was there, someones girl friend, fucking died. They walked in and found her dead. The paramedics were there, but no one knew she was in trouble. So ridiculous.

For all you comic fans out there, one of my favorite books from one of my favorite authors is being reprinted in large format comic book monthly style.

The first series is already out in Tokyo-Pop trade paperback fasion, but this is going to be awesome. And once the first book is done, it'll run right into the not before released in the U.S. second book. Wicked rad!

Death and taxes...

Hell's yeah! The first comic to not come from a conversation! Oh, aside from Date Rape, but that kinda' did I guess. Anyways...

Good weekend, my girlfriends in f-ing Disneyland, so I've been rolling with the homies. Friday night, worked on the comic then went to the park and drank with Josh and Jake. When I came home there was a gigantic freaking moth trapped between my bed and the wall. I made my roomate Brad come in and get it, cause it was icky and he's used to that sort of thing. Saturday, woke up late, had amazing breakfast at the Gleason Breakfast House, went to Every Day Music, and then practiced coloring all day. I figured out a different way to color and that's pretty cool, and I was fucking around with it from some things in my sketch book.

That night we went and smoked hookah and drank at Davids house, which was wicked chill. Sunday, fathers day (I got him Fire Fly on DVD) and then came home and cleaned. Brad made some delicious dinner, now I'm getting ready for bed.

I've been reading Deadpool Classics vol. 2, with Joe Kelly writing and Ed Mcguinness on art. That dude has the perfect cross between cartoon and comic for Deadpool. I wanna see that shit when they do the Deadpool movie. Also, if you like Joe Kelly, check out I Kill Giants. It's an amazing series.

Very funny, and also very sad.

It's not right the way we treat homosexual people in this country. It's exactly the same type of behavior we exhibited to African Americans that is now deemed "unexceptionable". It's just a matter of time before we're going to look back on the way homosexuals are being treated with the same amount of disgust that we do any other group of individuals that have been discriminated against. I just wish we'd figure this shit out already.

ANY ways. We had our awesome Disney party last night, thanks to everyone who should up, the band Bomb the Fontain and Ugly Colors (even though they were too late to really get to play), and ESPECIALLY everyone who showed up in costume! I'll try and have some pictures up here next post.

My band is playing this Wedensday at the Satyricon downtown. It's going to be awesome AND rad. So make sure to come!

If this installment looks rushed, it's cause it is. It's been a quite a week. Last Wednesday me and Krista went and saw Far at Satyricon, which was a great show, but really expensive for the Satyricon. Still totally worth it, except we almost got jumped at the max stop. We narrowly avoided danger and made it home safe and sound.

Saturday we had a going away party for our new friend Genevieve, who's moving back to Florida this Saturday (and is a twat for doing so). Come on, really? Gators or squirrels? I know which one won't bite your damn arm off. Anyways, we went to Claudius on Hawthorne and sang Karaoke! I sang some Ace of Base with Genevieve,Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Two Princes, and me and Josh topped the night off with a rousing rendition of a Whole New World.

Sunday I went to a guitar swap meet with my dad, which was pretty fun. He bought a beat up old hollow body arch top shell, and a couple of pieces. I might have bought this awesome baritone ukulele if I had any cash. Probably for the best that I didn't.

Remember, if you're in the area, we're having a Disney house party on Saturday, and next Wednesday we've got a show at the Satyricon.

Another day in the life of Asteroid M. Which by the way, if you're in the Portland metro area, we have a house party coming up on the 13th of june (Disney Theme Party!) and a show at the Satyricon on the 17th of June. Come check it out! Let me know if you'd like more info.

Saw the new Sam Rami movie, Drag Me To Hell yesterday. Just go see it. Unless you hate things that are awesome, go see it. This is probably the first time I've felt scared during a movie, well, ever. But it's also funny. It's just an all around great film, from the amazing score to the special effects and acting. I'm glad somebody finally gave Rami a budget for a horror movie.

Also, I just got a chance to read Alan Moores run on Swamp Thing (I know, what kind of a nerd am I?) let me tell you, out of all the things great about this book, I was most impressed with the amazing use of paneling. Some of the most creative and fluid boxes I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. All presented in a prestige hard cover format on beautiful non gloss paper. On a side note, when I was but a wee lad, first collecting comics in the 90's (the not-so-glory days) I remember being disappointed when I'd buy a funny book and the interiors were on newsprint. I recently bought the best of Jack Kirby hard cover, and I was disappointed they had gone with glossy. Guess it goes to show how tastes will change.

So right before my band Asteroid M's last house party, we were stapling down the carpet on the stairs, and yes this did actually happen pretty much verbatim. I finally got my girlfriend, Krista to do the lettering for me on this one (see first post). Thanks baby!

Happy Memorial day weekend everybody! It's so goddamned nice out! I'm excited for some BBQ and drinkin. Went and saw The Hangover on Thursday, which I can do nothing but speak highly of. It's like Dude Where's My Car for smart adults. There was never a lull from the laughter. And Zach Galifinakas needs to be in more movies, he is absolutely hilarious.

Me and David went to a house party on Friday, and I ran into my brother Jake for the first time in almost two years, which was great I miss that kid. There were two bands, who were both great and put on great shows. Serious Business, and Babies Got Rabies. Check them both out.

Well, I'm going to get to the sun, everybody stay cool and I'll put more stuff up throughout the week!

Terminator Salvation, not as awesome as I would have liked

Okay, so I saw Terminator Salvation last night, sneak preview style. I'm not going to do a full review, but it wasn't very good. I didn't hate it, but it just didn't work. It's the only movie I can think of I didn't like Christian Bale in, nobody really did a very good job acting. The FX's ranged from amazing to cheesy, and just the whole story seemed rushed and convoluted.

I did realize something about the Terminator universe, from Terminator 2.

Okay, so, Skynet, right? They find this technology from the Terminator who comes back in Terminator 1. The guy uses his crazy 90's duel monitor computer to dissect the technology, which is used to form skynet.

This is why I hate time travel.

Without Skynet existing in the future, it can't exist in the past. This doesn't make any sense and is such a ridiculous paradox it makes my head spin thinking about it.

If this is ever covered, or if someone can explain this to me, please do so in the comments line.

On mothersday, my cousin was saying something about "bacon wrapped dates", misspoke, and said "bacon raped dates". I of course, snickered like a 12 year old for 45 minutes. And then drew this the next day on the bus.

Why my jobs duh best! We got some advanced copies of these die-cut Tokidoki Journals (they're very cute) and for some reason, they also decided to make the cardboard they were packaged with the same die-cut shape. So we had a contest in the sales department to see who could draw the best thing on the cardboard. Mine was a one legged monster.
